Minimizing Impacts During Construction
Build NCC’s integrated construction approach gives crews the ability to complete multiple projects within the same timeframe. This reduces impacts to communities and the environment. Construction crews will take all reasonable steps to minimize impacts to important coastal environmental resources and neighboring communities that include:
- No I-5 lane closures during the day
- Reduce truck movement through local streets
- Minimize nighttime construction lighting and noise, when feasible
- Safeguard construction materials near sensitive habitat
- Install noise barriers around some construction equipment
- Reduce bridge pile driving with an advanced construction method
