Grand Opening of the Landis Bikeway!
On Saturday, April 23, 2022, SANDAG hosted a community celebration for the opening of the Landis Bikeway at the Park de la Cruz. The event began with a brief speaking program with local elected officials and community leaders followed by a ceremonial ribbon cutting. The event featured lots of family-friendly activities and a celebratory community bike ride.
Groundbreaking Ceremony and Community Celebration
Representatives from SANDAG, the City of San Diego, and the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition were joined by community members at Cherokee Point Park in City Heights to break ground on the Landis and Georgia – Meade Bikeways on December 12, 2019.
Project Aesthetics Questionnaire
In early 2018, SANDAG sought community input on aesthetic elements that could be included on bikeways in the North Park and Mid-City areas.

Community Presentations
Since the North Park | Mid-City Bikeways planning process began in 2013, ten community workshops were held and more than 100 presentations were made to community groups. Community members have discussed project details and provided input on the bikeway designs in order to achieve the goal to create more opportunities to walk and bike in a low-stress environment.
Presentations to community groups and organizations are available upon request. To request a presentation, please contact the project manager.
