Park Boulevard Bikeway (Segment 5)

The Park Boulevard Bikeway project is one of five segments planned as part of the Uptown Bikeways, which will enhance neighborhood connectivity between Uptown, Old Town, Mission Valley, Downtown San Diego, North Park, and Balboa Park. The Park Boulevard Bikeway will provide a vital connection for people to walk and bike between Hillcrest, North Park, and Balboa Park.

The Park Boulevard Bikeway will be completed in two segments. The first segment runs along Park Boulevard from Robinson Avenue to Upas Street, and the second runs along Park Boulevard between Upas Street and Village Place. The bikeway will also provide important connections to several regional bikeways including the Eastern Hillcrest Bikeways to the west and the Robinson Bikeway to the east. It will serve as a key connection between the Uptown Bikeways and the North Park | Mid-City Bikeways.

Features may include buffered bike lanes or separated bikeways, intersection improvements, and traffic calming features designed to make Park Boulevard more pleasant for everyone – people who bike, walk, and drive.

SANDAG published a Traffic and Safety Impact Assessment for the project on December 7, 2018 and hosted an Open House and Public Hearing for the project on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. Please visit the Get Involved tab to learn more.

The Park Boulevard Bikeway segment between Robinson Avenue and Upas Street is currently in the final design phase. Please check the Notices tab for project updates or sign up to be added to our email list.
