Plan ahead for Absolute Work Windows
Absolute Work Windows (AWW) are select weekends that allow for construction crews to meet significant construction milestones and work unimpeded while all COASTER and Amtrak Pacific Surfliner rail services along the San Diego segment of the Los Angeles-San Diego-San Luis Obispo (LOSSAN) coastal rail corridor are halted.
AWWs typically begin Saturday morning at 12:30 a.m. and continue through Monday morning at 3 a.m. Regular passenger rail service is scheduled to resume in time for the morning commute on Monday.
Please note that construction schedules are subject to change.

Train Horn Noise During Construction
Federal regulations require the train engineer to sound the horn when approaching an active construction site, even in a quiet zone. Train horns serve as a warning system to ensure the safety of railroad workers. More information and rules governing the use of train horns can be found on the Federal Railroad Administration’s website at
www.fra.dot.gov.
