The I-5/Genesee Avenue Interchange project consists of five stages of construction. Work is currently underway on Stage 5. This stage of the project will take approximately 4 months to complete. The maps below include the type of work being performed in each stage. Check back regularly as construction schedules are subject to change.
Stage 2: Approximately 16 months
What to Expect: -
Intermittent traffic delays, overnight lane closures as needed

Begin Genesee Avenue widening and construction on north side of the
bridge

Construction work on retaining walls

Bike access will be maintained along I-5 shoulder

No pedestrian access within project limits

Begin work on bike path west of I-5
Motorists are urged to slow down during construction. Not only is it required by law,
but it helps save lives. Additionally, travelers are encouraged to give themselves more
time and anticipate possible traffic delays.
