Project Overview
This project will replace or maintain Overhead Contact System (OCS) materials and equipment originally installed in 1985 on the Orange Line Trolley. Beginning in October 2017, crews will be replacing the catenary assembly, including cantilever arms, brackets, and pulleys, and adjusting the overhead electrical lines that power the Trolley.
Work will occur along the Orange Line Trolley tracks between 16th & Commercial streets in Downtown San Diego and the El Cajon Transit Center located on S. Marshall Avenue.
The majority of Orange Line OCS Improvements construction was completed in summer 2018. Additional work activities are expected to occur in 2019.
