In July 2019, the State Route 11 (SR 11)/Otay Mesa East Port of Entry (OME POE) project broke ground on the final segment of the future toll road, SR 11 and the southbound connector ramps from SR 125 to eastbound SR 905 and SR 11. The connectors were completed in December 2021. In late 2020, the project broke ground on the southbound SR 125 to westbound SR 905 connector which marks the last major highway construction milestone of the project. This connector is expected to be completed by late 2022. Crews anticipate beginning construction of the Otay Mesa POE in summer 2022.

Budget

To date, the project has secured more than $565.2 million in local, state, and federal funding.
