Gilman Drive Bridge Opens: A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on February 7, to celebrate the opening of the Gilman Drive Bridge. More than 500 attendees gathered for the occasion. SANDAG Chair and Poway Mayor Steve Vaus, who spoke at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, said, “This bridge is a testament to connections – connecting the east side and west side of the UC San Diego campus, connecting the students and faculty with campus amenities and research facilities. And it also speaks to the role SANDAG plays in the region, connecting our communities to enhance our quality of life.” Watch highlights from the celebration.

Concurrent with this project, SANDAG is designing and constructing the Mid-Coast Trolley project, an 11-mile extension of the San Diego Trolley Blue Line that runs parallel to and crosses over I-5. SANDAG is coordinating closely between the two projects to ensure smooth construction and effective use of space and resources. View Mid-Coast Trolley construction notices.
