A community open house and public hearing for Segments 1-4 of the Uptown Bikeways project was held on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Attendees had the opportunity to talk with project team members and provide feedback on the Fourth and Fifth Avenue Bikeways, as well as other project segments. View open house materials.
Since the Uptown Bikeways project planning process began in 2012, ten community workshops have been held and more than 100 presentations have been made to community groups. SANDAG will continue to work with community stakeholders during the final design and construction of the Eastern Hillcrest project.

Uptown Planners Meeting held on November 5, 2019
Staff from Councilmember Chris Ward’s office and SANDAG attended the Uptown Planners meeting on November 5. An informational update was provided on the progress made on the Eastern Hillcrest Bikeways, Park Boulevard Bikeways, and Normal Street Promenade since the last public meetings. Staff discussed the comments received during the outreach phase and the changes made to the project to incorporate the desires of the community into the project.

Uptown Planners Meeting held on March 5, 2019
Staff
from Councilmember Chris Ward’s office, the City of San Diego, and SANDAG
attended the Uptown Planners meeting on March 5. A summary of the results of
the outreach process and updated conceptual designs were presented for the
Normal Street Promenade project. The Uptown Planners board voted in favor of
moving forward with the Normal Street Promenade project as part of the Eastern
Hillcrest Bikeways.
