Schedule
Construction began in mid-2015 on the CP Rose signals and was completed in 2016. The remaining work started in spring 2017 and is estimated to be complete in 2020.
Budget
The project is estimated to cost $192 million. Approximately $67 million of the project is funded through federal sources from Federal Transit Administration and Federal Railroad Administration grant funding and approximately $66 million is funded through a combination of State TRCP and TIRCP grant funding. SANDAG has leveraged the federal and state funding with approximately $45 million from TransNet, the regional half-cent sales tax for transportation. The remaining project funding is provided by SANDAG's partner agencies, the City of San Diego and North County Transit District, for adjacent project improvements.
