The North Coast Corridor (NCC) Program offers a balanced transportation system to provide travelers choices for the future while enhancing the quality of life for residents. The NCC Program is comprised of three primary focus areas – the Interstate 5 (I-5) Express lanes Project, coastal rail and transit enhancements, and environmental protection and coastal access improvements. View the NCC Program Fact Sheet and the NCC Under Development Fact Sheet.

The NCC Program represents a more than $6 billion investment in the San Diego economy over the next few decades, including more than $250 million to preserve and enhance sensitive coastal habitat and improve coastal access.

The NCC Program:

  • improves regional mobility and coastal access
  • focuses highway capacity improvements on facilities that move more people, not just cars
  • improves reliability and capacity along the rail corridor for intercity, commuter and freight rail services
  • protects and enhances environmental resources and improves coastal access

The NCC Program is included in TransNet, the voter approved, half-cent sales tax initiative that helps fund transportation projects in the region.
